Most people pick a Hellstar hoodie for the graphic, then get stuck on the color. It matters more than you’d think. The same print can look loud on red and almost low-key on black. Here’s how each color in our range actually wears, with the hoodies we stock in it.
Black: the safe first pick
If you’re buying one Hellstar hoodie, buy black. It goes with every pair of jeans, cargos and sweatpants you own, and it lets the graphic be the focus without the whole outfit shouting.
There’s a big spread inside “black”. The Black Hellstar Records Hoodie has a tonal logo, so it’s about as quiet as Hellstar gets. The Black and Red Hellstar Hoodie adds a red script logo and sleeve prints. For something sportier, the Sports Jet Black Hoodie has a curved white stripe across the chest, and the black long sleeve graphic hoodie goes the other way with a big neon print.
White and cream: clean, but think about upkeep
White hoodies look sharp and make colorful graphics pop. The Hellstar White Hoodie is just the black star logo on white, while the white long sleeve graphic hoodie carries a bright yellow and pink print. The Summer Love hoodie is off-white with small colorful graphics scattered over it.
The honest downside: light colors show wear faster. Wash them cold with other whites and keep them away from dark denim on the first few wears.
Grey: easier than black, less stark than white
Grey is underrated. It works with black, blue denim and most colored sweatpants. The Grey Hellstar Hoodie is charcoal with a red script logo, the Studios Future Grey Hoodie has black flame prints down the sleeves, and the Airbrushed Skull hoodie is a washed grey with green details. If you want a zip, the grey Sports Zip-Up has a faded, worn-in look.
Red: the one people notice
Red is the boldest choice in the range. The Studios Records Hoodie in red has a spiky logo across the chest and prints down both sleeves, the red Hellstar hoodie keeps it tonal, and the red tie-dye skull hoodie is the busiest of the lot. Keep the rest of the outfit black or grey and let the hoodie do the work.
Pink
The Couple Style Pink Hoodie is bright pink with a darker pink logo, and the Studios Records pink hoodie gives you the Records design in pink. Black or light grey bottoms suit both.
Blue
Blue ranges from soft to loud. The blue Uniform Hoodie is a pale, powder blue, the Studios Blue Yoga Hoodie is a bright royal blue with white graphics, and the Sports Gel Hoodie sits in between with a washed look.
Orange, yellow and brown
These are for people who already own a black one. The Fire Orange Hellstar Hoodie is a washed orange with sleeve prints, the yellow Sports Zip-Up is more mustard than lemon, and the brown long sleeve graphic hoodie carries a skull print on a warm brown that pairs well with cream and denim.
Quick way to decide
- First Hellstar hoodie: black or charcoal grey.
- You want it to be noticed: red, orange or bright blue.
- Matching set: pick the color first, then check our tracksuits and sweatpants for the same shade.
- Not sure about light colors: grey gives you a softer look without the upkeep of white.
