Hellstar Hats Guide: Fitted, Snapback and Trucker Caps

A hat is the easiest way to add some Hellstar to an outfit. It works with a plain tee, it works with a full tracksuit, and it’s the one piece you’ll wear more days than not. We carry around twenty Hellstar caps, and they fall into three groups: fitted hats, snapbacks and truckers, and classic baseball caps. Here’s how to tell them apart and which ones are worth a look.

Fitted, snapback or trucker: what’s the difference?

• Fitted hats have a closed back. They look the cleanest, but you need to pick the right size, so check the size options on the product page.
• Snapbacks have a plastic snap strap at the back, so one hat fits most heads and you can loosen or tighten it.
• Trucker hats are snapbacks with a mesh back panel. They’re lighter on hot days and have a more laid-back look.

If you’ve never bought a fitted cap before and don’t know your size, a snapback is the safer first buy.

How to match a Hellstar hat with the rest of your outfit

Keep it simple: either match the cap to one colour in your top, or let the cap be the only loud thing you’re wearing. A black cap with a graphic hoodie is always safe. Looking after your cap

Don’t put a cap in the washing machine or the dryer. It can bend the brim and crush the front panel. Spot clean with a damp cloth and let it air dry. If you sweat in it a lot, wipe the inside band now and then.
